On this page
A workspace is the boundary around everything you configure and everything you collect: your leads, your records, your intake questions, your matching rules, your connected channels. Nothing crosses it. Two workspaces on the same plan cannot see each other's data, and there is no shared pool anywhere behind them.
Signing up creates the workspace and your account in the same step. You are not asked for a card: you are asked to pay only if you choose a plan before the trial ends. See How the trial works.
What signup gives you
You do not start from an empty page. Signup applies an industry template: a working configuration with a business profile, the questions your bot will ask, the fields you store about each of your own records, matching rules, and a handful of sample records to look at. You then edit it. See Choosing an industry template. Those sample records count towards your plan's records limit until you delete or deactivate them (Plans, limits and meters).
If no template is your kind of business, None fits? Set it up with AI on the industry step starts you without one, and AI drafts your setup instead (Setting up with AI).
If you arrived from a link with a template already chosen, that is the one you get. A link naming a template that no longer exists does not fail your signup — it starts you from scratch instead, which you can change during setup.
The signup form: website, currency and time zone
Besides your name, workspace name, email and a password, the details step has two extras that save you questions later; neither is required. The password needs at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a digit, and cannot be a very common one.
- Your website (optional). Type it with or without the leading "https": "yourbusiness.com" is fine. It is saved with your workspace, and a web address we cannot accept shows an error under the box and holds the form until you fix or clear it. If you give one, we read its public pages after you sign up to suggest setup changes for your business, and the form says so ("We'll read your public pages to suggest setup changes"). Suggested changes to your setup wait until you press Keep, while the facts it finds (answers, hours, places) are added at once and prices and policies wait for you to confirm them. We keep a short list of facts, not copies of your pages (How AI fits your template).
- Currency and time zone. One line under the form, for example "Prices in ₹ INR · Times in Asia/Kolkata · Change", is worked out from your browser: its clock sets the time zone, and the currency follows the country of that time zone, then the region of your browser's language. The euro is chosen only for countries that use it, and where neither is one we recognise the currency is US dollars. It is a guess you can overrule: Change opens a currency list and a time zone list. Changing the currency does not convert any amount.
The currency matters because the templates write their money in dollars. In another currency a money rule starts blank and off, and your sample records carry no price, until you type your own figure (Choosing an industry template). If you start from scratch there is no profile yet, so the currency and time zone are not saved at signup and Quick start asks again.
You are not asked to choose a plan when you sign up from the home page: the 14-day trial starts on our default plan, Starter, and you can change tiers any time. A link from the pricing page that names a plan shows a plan step first, so you can confirm or change it.
Who owns it
Whoever signs up becomes the owner. There is exactly one owner seat per workspace, it is created at signup, and it cannot be handed out by invitation.
Ownership does not transfer yet. If the wrong person signs up, the cleanest fix today is to create the workspace again under the right address before you have put real data in it — say so early rather than discovering it later. Everyone else joins by invitation, as an admin or an agent: Inviting your team.
Verifying your email
You are signed in immediately; the verification link is separate and lasts 24 hours. Until you follow it the dashboard shows a "Confirm your email address" banner, and one thing is actually blocked: you cannot subscribe to a plan. Everything else — setup, the playground, connecting a channel, taking real leads — works during the trial with an unverified address.
That single block is deliberate. Billing is the one action where sending a receipt to an address nobody can read is a real problem.

What to do next
- Run Quick start (Guided setup in the sidebar) — four short steps: your business, your rules, a try-out of your bot, and going live.
- Talk to your bot in the playground before any customer does.
- Connect a channel — WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger — when you are ready for real conversations.
